PAIA MANUAL FOR CORRUGREEN
Prepared in accordance with Section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act, No. 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”) and the Protection of Personal Information Act, No. 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).
1. Introduction
a. The Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (“PAIA”) gives effect to the constitutional right of access to any information held by the state and any information that is held by another person and that is required for the exercise or protection of any rights.
b. This manual provides an outline of the types of records held by Corrugreen and sets out the procedure to request access to these records.

3. The Information Regulator’s Guide
a. The Information Regulator has compiled a guide, as required by Section 10 of PAIA, containing information to assist any person who wishes to exercise any right as contemplated in PAIA.
b. The guide is available in all official South African languages and can be obtained from the Information Regulator:

4. Applicable Legislation
a. Corrugreen holds records in accordance with various South African statutes, including but not limited to:
- i. Basic Conditions of Employment Act 75 of 1997
- ii. Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act 53 of 2003
- iii. Companies Act 71 of 2008
- iv. Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act 130 of 1993
- v. Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998

5. Categories of Records Held
a. The following are the categories of records held by Corrugreen. Note that recording a category does not imply that a request for access to such records will be granted. All requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
6. Process for Requesting Access
a. Any individual seeking access to a record held by Corrugreen must follow the prescribed procedure:
i. Complete the Prescribed Form: The requester must use Form 2 (Request for Access to Record) as published by the Information Regulator.
- ii. Submit the Form: The completed form must be submitted to the Information Officer at the email or physical address listed in Section 2. i
- ii. Provide Sufficient Detail: The request must explicitly identify the record sought, the requester’s identity, the right the requester is seeking to exercise or protect, and an explanation of why the record is required to exercise that right.
- iv. Pay the Prescribed Fee: A request fee is payable upfront (unless the requester is seeking personal information about themselves). A further access fee is payable if the request is granted, covering the costs of searching, preparing, and reproducing the record.
7. Grounds for Refusal
- a. Corrugreen may, and in certain instances must, refuse access to records on the following grounds:
- b. Mandatory protection of the privacy of a third party who is a natural person.
- c. Mandatory protection of commercial information of a third party (e.g., trade secrets, financial data).
- d. Mandatory protection of certain confidential information of a third party.
- e. Mandatory protection of the safety of individuals and the protection of property.
- f. Mandatory protection of records privileged from production in legal proceedings.
- g. Commercial information of Corrugreen (e.g., trade secrets, financial models, proprietary manufacturing processes).
8. Availability of the Manual
a. A copy of this manual is available:
- i. On the Corrugreen website.
- ii. At the principal place of business of Corrugreen for public inspection during normal business hours.
- iii. To any person upon request and upon the payment of a reasonable prescribed fee.
